I am writing following Monday 04/01/2021 announcement by the UK government of a national lockdown in England. Since Newmor groupoperations, which includes Morland and Newmor Wallcoverings, are based in mid Wales, we are governed by the Welsh Assembly rules which are unchanged at present. The rules state that non retail businesses should continue to operate where safe working practices have been implemented. I can confirm therefore that Newmor Group’s operations, including Morland and Newmor Wallcoverings will continue to run as before, with a full range of COVID precautions in place. Our manufacturing sites will remain fully open. We will continue to receive and make deliveries, and we do not anticipate any impact on our lead-times. We will also remain open for collections, operating in a fully socially distanced manner. The imposition of restrictions will continue to be a feature of all our business and private lives for a while longer. As a Company we have changed the way we work, and I am sure we will cope with any challenges that lie ahead.

I am writing following Monday’s announcement by the Welsh government of a ‘firebreak’ to be implemented in Wales at 18.00 on Friday 23rd October, and to end on Monday 9th November. During this period additional restrictions have been announced by the First Minister with the aim of reducing the spread of Coronavirus. Under the new restrictions businesses in the retail and hospitality sectors will have to close. The rules state that other businesses should continue to operate where safe working practices have been implemented. I can confirm therefore that Newmor Group’s operations, including Morland and Newmor Wallcoverings will continue to run as before, with a full range of COVID precautions in place. We will however be increasing the proportion of remote working during the firebreak period, for all applicable roles. Our manufacturing sites will remain fully open. We will continue to receive and make deliveries, and we do not anticipate any impact on our lead-times. We will also remain open for collections, operating in a fully socially distanced manner. The periodic imposition of special measures may well be a feature of all our business and private lives for some time to come. As a Company we have changed the way we work in so many ways, and I am sure we will cope with any challenges that lie ahead.
Best Regards, James Morris Group Managing Director |

Since we last updated you in relation to the Covid-19 situation (20th March) there have been substantial changes in our industry, effecting our company, employees and customers. Whilst many of our UK customers have temporarily closed, a number remain open in order to continue to support Government operations.
Production In line with changing demand, we have reduced manufacturing operations in several areas, with the focus now being on essential product lines only. We have taken extensive measures to ensure that the remaining staff operate safely and within the Government’s guidelines. Our group hazard and risk assessment can be found on our downloads page here. Our fire doorset production line is fully operational, and we retain good stocks of product for the rapid-deployable accommodation sector. A warehouse team is operating to fulfil orders for ex-stock products.
Sales Support Our customer service team is working from home but remains available and operational to accept and process your orders or enquiries. Our sales team and other office-based employees are mostly furloughed with a small number working from home to maintain contact. Morland’s sampling department has had to close.
Delivery and transport We continue to do our utmost to ensure that orders arrive on time and in full. We have reorganised the loading and unloading of lorries so that hauliers avoid close contact with our warehouse team. If your company has introduced any new procedures or restrictions with goods-in/receiving areas, we would ask that you inform us of these immediately, so we can communicate this to our haulage partners and prevent unnecessary delays on site.
Morland website The Morland e-commerce website continues to operate for stock product but with reduced availability of make-to-order products. As per above, there are additional measures in place when collecting from our site to limit unnecessary contact. Please contact us if you have any queries. Best regards,
James Morris Group Managing Director |
